First of all contracts are good. They help and make structures for partnerships such as between artist and curator, gallerist, art institution etc. Look for a standard contract on internet. A lot of people will hesitate and prefer a solid handshake. Don’t do it. Mucicians, writers, etc wouldn’t so why shall artists settle for pretty words…
And why not a join an artist union that looks out for you copy rights and possibly has a good standard contract for printing and publications etc.
